I know my application has arrived at the embassy, so it's now just a nervous couple of months of waiting to hear if I get an interview.
I'll be able to distract myself for nearly a month as I am studying/travelling in Japan in January!
This forum (and the links included in many of the posts) were extremely helpful for not panicking too much over my application. Chaz was also really helpful, and one of the main reasons I applied - thank you!

I also just applied, I've been listening to Chaz for a while now and his podcasts and tweets were definitely a helping factor. I'm not applying to be an ALT, though, I decided to go for CIR (Coordinator for International Relations), I feel that my Japanese is good enough to try for that position. If worst comes to worst, I'll try and finagle an ALT job somewhere in Japan. Good luck to you and everyone else applying this year!

Congratulations to all that got selected for the interview! You have a couple of weeks to prepare. Those of you who didn't get selected I know it sucks, but you can re-apply next year. Don't give up hope!
